USA: Top 10 Solar States


Where in the U.S. are the best chances for German solar companies to find a skilled workforce as an employer in the solar / PV industry? Where would you have to look as a German-trained, US state certified electrician / installer, engineer or planner seeking employment with a solar company?

Last year, the U.S. solar industry installed 3.3 GW of solar capacity, growing 76% over 2011's total. Check the infographic below to find out where the solar industry has been booming recently.


According to the U.S. Solar Marker Insight Year-in-Review report by SEIA and GTM Research, 2012 was a record year for many states. Click on the graphic below to see a larger version:

California became the first state to install over 1 GW in one year, with cumulative installations making it 7th in the world (if it were its own country). Arizona came in as the 2nd largest market, spurred by installations of huge utility-scale solar power plants, while New Jersey ranked 3rd.
